Indoor cycling

What is a RealRyder® bike?

The innovative RealRyder® ABF8 Stationary Bike provides a much needed overhaul to one of the most popular and versatile pieces of fitness equipment on the market, the indoor bike.

Originally the indoor bike was designed to simulate riding a real bike and it is understandable that in those early stages what was created was essentially a pedaling machine. However, somewhere along the line manufacturers of indoor bikes became stagnant and settled on only making slight improvements to these pedaling machines (stationary bikes). The designer of the RealRyder®, Colin Irving, an avid and competitive cyclist realized this obvious flaw and set out to make the first dramatic improvement to the indoor bike. The result is the RealRyder® ABF8 what we like to call the first unstationary-stationary bike.

No longer will a person's workout be limited to lower body and cardio; no longer will someone's involvement be determined by their ability to imagine that they are moving. The RealRyder® ABF8 Stationary Bike mimics the real biking experience far better than any other indoor bike on the market ever has, because it leans and turns like an outdoor bike.

Furthermore, this movement has many benefits outside of just feel, namely its inherent ability to target muscle groups previously ignored by other indoor bikes. These improvements alone would represent the most dramatic step forward since the first indoor cycle hit the market. Yet we did not stop there, we also sought to improve upon the subtle changes that our competitors have been making for the last thirty years. RealRyder® uses high end parts and materials to create an even more durable product, superb adjustability, and a sleek design.

The RealRyder® ABF8 Stationary Bike is the revolutionary product that the indoor cycling market has been waiting for.

How many calories can I burn in a class?

Depending on your intensity of your bike during the class and what you put into the class/workout average calories burned are from 450 to 800 calories.

Do I need special shoes?

Any cycling shoes with the universal clips (which are the majority of the clips) will work on the bikes.  You can also use your workout shoes using the straps on the bike pedals.

If I have never cycled before what can I expect from a class?

We do have beginner classes which we encourage new clients to take to educate you on the bike and the movements to ensure you are maximizing the class to get the most you can out of the work out.  As you take class by class you will see the difference in your body and mentally helps with stress.  You will see your body changing by weight loss, strengthening in core, arms, legs and shoulders.  See our schedule for FREE 30 minute Intro Rydes to build up your experience with the bike.  Hot Ryde provides this complimentary class up to 3 times a year for each client.

What do I bring to class?

Bring a bottle of water and if you need to change before leaving our facility bring a change of clothes.  Other than that, come and enjoy one of the best rides/classes!  We encourage you to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled class.  Our instructors will be on hand to assist you in setup of your bike and orientation to the movements the RealRyder® bikes.

Some of our clients come to enjoy an intense workout;  others simply want to relax and be to themselves.  Once a class begins, the curtains are closed so that all of our clients experience no interruptions.  By arriving on time (or early if you need assistance with setup) you help ensure that class will begin and end on schedule.

Hot/Warm Yoga

Yoga is a complete system of rejuvenation, health and restoration.  Having yoga in your life, may it be hot ashtanga, warm vinayssa or general yoga classes cleanses the body and reclaims the mind and soul.  Our yoga studio is kept at a warm temperature to allow for deeper stretching, relaxing the muscles and releasing tension and stress in the body.  Medical science has increasingly shown interest in yoga as a cure for chronic illness and an aid in body maintenance.  Another benefit of warm/hot yoga is to detoxify the body.  Yoga was designed to restore health to every part of the body mind, muscle and soul.  A key benefit of yoga stimulates every muscle, joint and organ of the body.  Our instructors guide our clients through the options of yoga classes to determine which class you may benefit the most.  Each class guides you through a series of positions; engaging in our yoga classes, you will notice an increase of energy, strength, balance, flexibility and mental focus.  As your body flushes out the bad toxins it leaves you feeling an enormous sense of well being.

What do I bring to class?

Be sure to bring bottled water for plenty of hydration.  Most of our clients prefer to bring their own yoga mat, but mats are available in the studio.

How long are the classes?  How HOT is it?

Our Warm Vinyasa is a 60 minute class.  The studio is heated to a temperature of 85 to 95 degrees with a humidity of 40-60%.  Hot Yoga is 60 minutes long with a temperature of approxiamtely 103 degrees, also with a humidity of 40-60%.

The yoga studio is open 10 minutes prior to your scheduled class for you to begin your journey.  When the curtains are closed on the door to the studio, the class is closed.  By arriving on time, you help ensure that class will begin and end on schedule.  We request that NO cell phones be used in our yoga studio; the temperature and humidity can damage electronic equipment and can disturb others taking the class.

At the Barre
